[ It hasn't so much been Chouji's favorite week in Luceti. There's something to be said for getting picked up and dropped off by scientist robots with no idea what happened in between and all. Memory issues leave a general unsettled feeling in their wake, make things seem a little unsteady. And he's been feeling a little bit off in general otherwise, too- but as far as he knows, it's just him getting worked up and psyched out over no big deal. Nothing really hurts, he's been eating normally, chakra production's been fine...

It still bothers him, really: but it's not like there's all that much he can do about it, either. So he made an executive decision of sorts to not be noticeably bothered by things- being worried when nothing has really happened just makes for stress for all involved.

Routine, therefore, is key. Off-kilter or not, it's stopped raining and Chouji never takes issue with heading out for a walk to town; nothing outside of the usual food and supply run, but fresh air is fresh air. From there, it's just back to the Ninjapartment in CH 1 for him. All in all, the start of his day is kind of boring.

[Rogue is just out enjoying the not!rain. Soon she'll head towards the Item Shop to check and see if there's anything fun and then it's... back to the Battle Dome.

When Luceti isn't hellish it clearly tries to kill its inhabitants with boredom. Maybe she will stop inside the grocery store to try some different kinds of coffee. Yes. Coffee. That is what she needs.]

[ Grocery store- Chouji is so there. He's not so much a coffee guy, but pssh, screw all that noise. Passing you up on his way to wherever they're keeping the chips these days (he should request a relocation or something, never know when another random fight will destroy some of the premises again).

But you know, he's Chouji. So there's definitely always time to smile at someone and offer up a short wave. ]

[Strangers smiling and waving. It's almost like back in Mississippi. Except for the fact that there were next to no strangers in Caldecott. Have a nod in return.]

[You know, it's great to have his legs fully repaired now. and it's not raining to boot, so in the midst of going out to hit on girls, one Masaomi Kisa is also pulling freerunning-esque stunts. You know, fun things like say jumping on the rails of the bridges wand walking across that way, or jumping up a trash-can to swing off a gutter onto a bench.

Fun stuff like that.

And running into Chouji during the midst of this newfound freedom sounds good too]

That I have. If I had to rate it on a scale from one to ten, I'd call it a lean seven, because I still don't have a gorgeous girlfriend to lean on to celebrate the moment for.

[ Oh hey, Shikamaru did get back around to his journal. :|a He was starting to wonder. Voice will be ever so slightly on the shaky side by this time- but you know how manly ninja are about being completely fine. ]

I'm close enough to it.

[ ...yeah, he is SO out of that plaza right now. >_> He's, like. Just crossed the bridge from the road leading out of it, far. Mere details, though, bro. Milk trumps any qualms about extra walking. ]

[...noting that. It's been five days now, but he's still a little on the wary side since Chouji's returned from his mallynapping.

But it can wait until he gets back, Shikamaru figures. How long does it take to grab milk?]

[ A little pause complete with complimentary blink, and then on he soldiers. Mostly because ha. ] It can be our good news on reserve, if she ever shows up.

[ Put it between "only about four stores" and "no way out." It'll be a breeze, right. ]

And if that doesn't work, we could tell her most of the guys here are single.

Actually, scratch that. She shows up, we don't say a thing about that. Ever.

[Ninja are trained to move as fast carrying a comrade as they would on their own, but when it comes to Akimichi clansmen, it still takes about two of them to do it. Especially when you're being careful of their safety.

But they got him here, and he's breathing again. Now all Shikamaru has to do is convince himself that it'll stay that way.

Shikamaru folds his arms and leans back against the wall, doing his best to stay out of Law and Katara's way. While Shino and Naruto wait outside, he's in here to be on hand to answer any questions Law may have. They were interrupted over the journals before he could finish earlier, when Chouji...

He keeps his mind blank, quietly observing.]

[Katara is on the side of the bed, sitting on a stool someone dug up from somewhere, with her water-gloved hands still on Chouji's chest. The patchwork job she did of clearing up his chi paths has already begun to come undone in the short time it took to move Chouji here. She's going to have to move the pathways back herself.

This terrifies her. The Malnosso have pushed and prodded at the chi pathways so much that there are echoes and wrong traces all through his body of where they have been. She's going to have to go deep to find out where they're supposed to be. And then to move them...

Fortunately she's seen Chouji's chi system when it was healthy once before, but she can't rely on her memory - first she has to see if she can find their original pathways, and right now, except for the part that's constantly pushing his chi on its course and making sure it won't block again, all of Katara's focus is on going deeper.]

[Shikamaru shakes his head.]

He didn't even know he was kidnapped until he was brought back. Apparently they kept him sedated or something the entire time.

[And yes, it's occurred to him more than one that they could've done anything to him during that time.

He keeps his eyes trained on Katara.]

Five days. I imagine whatever was in his system has worn off by now.

That penetrates Katara's focus just enough for her to glance up.

Five days? Why didn't they tell her? If she'd gotten to him sooner, then-
